Almost 11 Weeks.....

Time flies. Maya will be 11 weeks old on Wednesday. I have been bad about posting the past couple of weeks, and I will try to get better. What's happened since we last talked?!?

Maya had her 2 month check-up. She's growing, that's for sure. She measured 22.5 inches and 11 lbs 6 oz. (That is from her 'go-home' measurements of 19.5 inches and 7lbs 2oz on March 13) They say she's in the 50th percentile for both, but we think she's big.

She's also getting very expressive. She says something that sounds like, "I'm Good" and we both swear that she said, "Ice Cream". We s&!t you not. Also, she loves to be outside and is soaking it all up. Today, in fact, she sat on my lap and we looked through Bobby Flay's new cook-book. Screw the A-B-C's...I want her to know what a teaspoon and Tablespoon are.

More to come....she continues to grow. I hope to have some great pictures at the pool this summer, although, her first dip (of her toes) did not go so well today. Let's just say...the opposite of good times.

Look at me!!

As she approaches her 2 month mark, Maya really is starting to get expressive!! This is the first smile we have actually captured on film. (Have been trying to do that for weeks now) She also is talking, laughing and yes...frowning more. (She has a great 'bottom lip' when she is mad)

Monday is her 2 month checkup. Can't wait to see how much she has grown. Also, tomorrow is Mothers day. I took Maya out shopping for her mommy and she picked out a great present. She can't wait to give it tomorrow.

My First Derby!!

Today was Maya's first Kentucky Derby. I must say that our luck at picking horses did not improve when she arrived. I am convinced that the horses we put money on were actually donkeys. (Luckily, Nani picked the winner and saved the family honor)

We dressed Maya for the occasion. We hope that one day she will be on the invite list to the Barnstable-Brown party on Derby Eve. (and that she will not forget her hip parents)

We are off to Dayton tomorrow to visit Maya's Nanda Aunts, Uncles and cousins for the first time. She's really excited!!
